Pyramids and The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)

•After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel to start the day with a visit to the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. •The Giza Plateau is home to the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with the Great Sphinx. You'll start with a panoramic view from the entrance to the plateau, where you can see all three pyramids lined up with the desert backdrop. •After visiting the pyramids, head down to the Great Sphinx. Take your time here to appreciate this magnificent statue, which represents the Pharaoh Khafre and was carved out of a single block of limestone. •After that, your guide will take you to the Grand Egyptian Museum, located just outside the Giza Plateau. The GEM is one of the largest archaeological museums in the world and houses an extraordinary collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the treasures of King Tutankhamun. •After your tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum, you will be driven back to your hotel in Cairo. •In the morning, take your breakfast. Then, head to Coptic Cairo to explore the early Christian history of Egypt. Visit: •The Hanging Church (Saint Virgin Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church): One of the oldest churches in Egypt, located in a beautiful old Coptic area. •Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church: also known as Abu Serga, is built upon an ancient Roman fort in Old Cairo. This church has acquired a special religious status among Coptic churches because it is associated with the Holy Family's journey through Egypt. •The Ben Ezra Synagogue: The site where the baby Moses is said to have been found. •Explore the Islamic Cairo district, known for its medieval Islamic architecture, mosques, and narrow alleys. You can visit: •The Citadel of Saladin: This impressive fortress offers panoramic views of Cairo and houses several museums and mosques, including the Mohammed Ali Mosque (also known as the Alabaster Mosque). •End your day with a visit to Khan El Khalili, Cairo's historic market. Wander through the bustling lanes lined with stalls selling everything from spices and perfumes to gold jewelry and handmade crafts. •If you're interested, you can sit at a traditional coffeehouse like El Fishawy and enjoy a cup of mint tea or Turkish coffee. Take the Flight from Cairo to Aswan

•Arrive in Aswan by flight, and transfer to your Nile cruise ship for check-in. •Aswan High Dam: Start your exploration with a visit to the High Dam, one of the engineering marvels of the 20th century. Completed in 1970, the dam provides electricity and water to much of Egypt. It also created Lake Nasser, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world. •Philae Temple: Afterward, take a boat ride to the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Located on an island, this beautiful temple was relocated after the construction of the High Dam to prevent it from being submerged. •Return to your cruise ship for a welcome dinner as you begin your journey down the Nile. •Enjoy traditional Egyptian cuisine like moussaka, kebabs, and mezze while watching the sunset over the river. Kom Ombo and Edfu

•Kom Ombo Temple: Your cruise will stop at the Temple of Kom Ombo, located about halfway between Aswan and Luxor. This unique temple is dedicated to Horus (the falcon-headed god) and Sobek (the crocodile god). The temple is famous for its symmetrical design and twin sanctuaries, one dedicated to each god. •Don’t miss the mummified crocodiles and the well-preserved ancient surgical instruments in the nearby museum. •After visiting Kom Ombo, head back to your ship for a relaxing lunch while you continue sailing northward towards Edfu. •Temple of Horus at Edfu: The Temple of Horus is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt and dedicated to the falcon-headed god, Horus. It's famous for its massive pylons, impressive reliefs, and towering columns. The temple was built during the Ptolemaic period (around 237-57 BCE), and you’ll see some of the most beautiful hieroglyphic inscriptions. •Head back to your ship for dinner, followed by some entertainment, such as a traditional dabka dance performance or belly dancing.
